ideastream is a non-profit organization that applies the power of media to education, culture and citizenship. It includes WVIZ/PBS, 90.3 WCPN, WCLV 104.9, educational and public service cable channels, broadband interactive video distance learning, the Internet and other interactive media.

Based on careful and ongoing ascertainment of community needs, ideastream acquires, creates and delivers content that connects those who seek knowledge with those who have it.

ideastream leverages technical, creative and financial resources through partnerships with other organizations that share interests in education and public service. Support comes primarily from contributions made by individuals, foundations and corporations. Funding from state and federal agencies also plays a critical role.

ideastream has attracted national attention as a new model for public service media. The services of ideastream multiple media are utilized by more than 2.8 million people a month in the Northeast Ohio region.

Public Media Code of Integrity

The Public Media Code of Integrity was adopted by the ideastream Board of Trustees on October 30, 2013. This code addresses shared principles that are held by ideastream and other public media organizations to strengthen the trust and integrity that local communities expect of valued public service institutions.

ideastream Chosen for 2013 Commission 50

Using responses to the Employers Survey on Diversity, the Commission has selected the "Commission 50" for 2013 - including ideastream - members who are recognized for progress in creating, enhancing and sustaining their diversity and inclusion strategies. View the list of 50 employers in alphabetical order through this link. Survey participants are ranked by each of the four metrics (board, senior management, workforce and supplier diversity), and the rankings are combined to produce a final score. The 50 Commission members with the highest combined scores receive this distinguished designation.
